We had heard of Seasons, but knew little about it before we went, except that many remember it fondly as a tea house, and the majority of these didn’t know that it is now much more. Yes, there is the Grab & Go Market for quick meals, but we dared to enter the restaurant beyond, and were pleasantly surprised. First, the winter setting with skaters on the frozen lake, fires galore outside and lights on the trees couldn’t have been more ideal, and the inside was just what we expected from a restaurant in a rustic setting—basic, but cozy, comfortable and friendly. The appetizers, soups, and salads were surprisingly good, with large portions thrown in as a bonus. And the main dishes we tried were fine meals with a home cooked quality. (And I should add we have good food in our home.) This is the perfect eatery to visit after skating or train riding or just exploring the park. And it provides a pleasing place in which to finish a perfect day.

Good vegetarian and vegan selections are available.
