There are many restaurant in Calgary; this is the Wurst. (We apologize for that, but with a name like Wurst, it just had to be written.) Yes is is a restaurant–upstairs, pub–downstairs kind of establishment with a German flavour throughout. This means traditional Bratwurst and Schnitzel and Schweinshexen, washed down with plenty of beer. But do not despair you non–Germanic types, there are plenty of dishes for you from tacos to seafood to tenderloin and salads. The downstairs beerhall does slant a little more to the German fare, but what would you expect? And also in keeping with its German roots, the portions are large. The service is fast, friendly and helpful. And for some reason the indoor trees with lights on them really do work in this setting. The restaurant does advertize parking, and there is a lot beside Wurst, but note that it is a pay lot, so don't bring your Scottish friends, or warn them to park on one of the side streets nearby.
