Marda Loop now has two small family-run Latin American restaurants. (See also Tres Marias.) Is this the start of a trend? I hope so. It’s always plesant to have nice food close to home. This a café, and they do well in that area, but we were there for the Mexican dishes and they do very well—especially for the price—there as well. The dishes were ceratinly fresh and the service was friendy. There are breafast dishes as well as tortas, tacos, burrritos and quesadillas. Yes, the menu is small, but it’s a smal place. And a cafe without many of the expected cafe usual dishes is welcomed. And maybe skip the coffee and try the Mexican hot chocolate. And they keep up the community spirit with open mic nights and other local events.
And they have another, smaller location just a few blocks north.
