Whenever Grant's old university friend, Wayne Fraser, came to town from Ontario, the two of them would meet for lunch. And Wayne would remind Grant to review Kawa for our webpage. Being an obliging person, Grant always said yes, and then, being a forgetful person, he did nothing. Well, he should have. Later, friends actually took us to one of the regular evening musical events at Kawa and found not only the entertainment, but also the atmosphere, food and coffee to be excellent. It is popular, so expect crowds. But the staff copes with humour and help. The dishes ranges from breakfast fare to simple sandwiches and the main dishes go from omelettes to perogies to red borscht—all freshly prepared. The coffee is high quality. Or you may have beer or wine. Definitely an espresso bar to keep in mind. Note: Say the name “kava”. That’s Polish for “coffee”.
Good vegetarian selection.

This item is often found on the special menu, so it is not always available. But watch for the perogies and sausage. Excellent!
