Restaurants disappoint for different reasons. We had been to the Rose and Crown in Banff before and had enjoyed the meal. The meat loaf, and meat pies were excellent. So we returned, avoiding our first choices, and venturing into the unknown, only to discover that the fish and chips and burgers were extremely ordinary. We still loved the authentic dark wood, old bar look, breaking from the current Banff obsession with light wood and metal. And the service was still supportive and friendly. So I suppose we would recommend going here if you are willing, like Indiana Jones, to choose wisely.
