Post COVID, there have been many changes throughout the restaurant industry, especially in the upscale division. Menus are smaller and items come and go more often. This is necessitated by rising costs and the need to avoid waste even more than previously. This change in choice does perplex many customers. You can’t count on your favourites from last time being on the menu today, and the choices are indeed much more limiting. For reviewers, this also means that you can’t quote menu selections too freely, as some items will probably have been replaced by the time readers visit the establishment. However, with that said, we can tell you that Salt and Brick is another of these more focused eateries, but is also one where the food is delicious and the service is outstanding. It is surprisingly large inside, rather like a TARDIS, but arranged so the noise is kept at an acceptable level. The staff dress is informal, but the service is quite professional. (This is another sign of restaurant change.) Give this place a try, and the smaller menu may just have you ordering something you normally wouldn’t consider, only to find it surprisingly good. The food is tapas style with even half a chicken or a large steak arriving in quite shareable servings.
And ask about Charlie’s Watch Repair. There’s something you may want to explore. (See reservations.)
Good vegetarian and vegan selection.
