The traditional Turkish platter to feed the entire group has been a favourite of ours for some time, and for economy and variety, it is difficult to beat. You get to try a greater variety of items than usual and have the additional pleasure of watching as that great platter of goodness is paraded through the restaurant to your table. In this bright, friendly, and well-staff setting the whole meal came together with great style and flavour. Turkish food relies on subtle spicing and a great variety of barbecued meat and vegetables with plenty of salads and sauces. It you haven't tried it, this would be a fine place to start. Keep in mind that Turkish restaurant do tend to have quite different choices and proportions of foods on their platters, so if the mix at one establishment doesn’t quite meet your taste, just get out there and try another one.
Note: A Turkish friend of ours says that the one we went to on Macleod Trail is a pinch better than the one on 17 Avenue SE. You will just have to try both to give us your opinion.
The main dishes are meatocentric, but there are numerous vegetarian items on the menu menu.
