The Calgary location of the White Elephant provides an “adventure” restaurant that makes finding the location half the fun. Yes, it is “behind the Airport Traveller’s Inn”. But you don’t sneak into it by going through the lobby at the front. By the look on the desk clerk’s face when we posed that question, I am certain, that we were at least the 1,779th group to seek his direction. No, you discover the White Elephant by going around to the back of the motel, through the big truck parking lot, and then you seek out that tiny inconspicuous door. And there you are in a surprisingly large and bright Thai restaurant. The food portions are also large, and well seasoned and reasonably prices. The staff is friendly. And even the lunch menu has enough on it to keep everyone happy. It’s well worth the adventure!
